BIG THANKS to Becky Jensen for sharing ideas on how to entertain tots indoors. Not only was she born and raised in Alaska, but she raised her two beautiful girls in Alaska as well...

"Keeping little ones busy when the wind is howling 25 mph outside. One of my girls' favorite things to do was play on the countertops with shaving cream after I added a few drops of food coloring. They would play for hours and in the end, my counters got cleaned and so did my girls."

"Another interactive activity we did was bring the bicycles inside (this is when they still had training wheels on their bikes) and put the training wheels on the two catalogs so they could peddle in place. This expelled some energy and they became more comfortable peddling.  When summer came they were ready.

We made lots of homemade cards - kids love scissors and paper.  This also helps hand eye coordination.  When they were really little and couldn’t walk, I always had a particular drawer stocked with plastic utensils, bowls, and lids they could play with. This one was an easy clean up.

There is always Story Time at the Library. You can also look into what your local Recreation Center has to offer for your little ones. Good luck!"
